What makes LED+ Pro Max different from a standard dimmer?

LED+ Pro Max dimmers are built for more demanding and less predictable jobs. They support four common load types in one dimmer—LED, ELV, MLV, and incandescent/halogen—and offer higher power ratings than standard LED+ dimmers, which helps when the real lighting application turns out to be more complex than expected.

When should I choose LED+ Pro Max instead of a standard LED+ dimmer?

Use LED+ Pro Max when the load may be specialty or uncertain, especially with tape lighting, track lighting, certain recessed LED applications, or decorative fixtures. 

LED+ works great on most jobs, but we recommend having a few LED+ Pro Max dimmers on hand. 

What kinds of lighting can LED+ Pro Max control?

The LED+ Pro Max line supports four key load types: dimmable LEDs, ELV loads such as tape/strip lighting, MLV loads such as some track lighting applications, and INC/HAL loads. Use Lutron's LED Compatibility Tool to identify the best performing bulbs.

What is the difference between Diva LED+ Pro and Diva LED+ Pro Max dimmers?

The only difference between the Pro and Pro Max models is their maximum power ratings. The Pro model's maximum LED load is 150W, 300W for INC/HAL, 300W for ELV, and 250VA for MLV. The Pro Max model's maximum LED load is 250W, 500W for INC/HAL, 500W for ELV, and 400VA for MLV.

Will LED+ Pro Max help reduce flicker and dimming issues with LEDs?

Yes. Tested rigorously across thousands of bulbs from dozens of manufacturers, LED+ Pro Max dimmers ensure unmatched, flicker-free performance with dimmable LED/INC/HAL bulbs. 

Can I use LED+ Pro Max in a 3-way or multi-location application?

Yes, but the capability differs by model:

Diva: Use a standard 3-way switch when controlling from 2 locations, or a compatible Lutron Accessory Switch (ST-AS) for switching from 2 or more locations.

Maestro: Use compatible Maestro Companion Dimmers (MA-R) for dimming for up to 10 locations.

Sunnata : Add up to 4 Sunnata Companion Dimmers (ST-RD)  for control from up to 5 locations. Sunnata is not compatible with 3-way mechanical switches.

Which LED+ Pro Max dimmer should I choose: Diva, Maestro, or Sunnata?

Use Diva for familiar paddle-style control, Maestro for multi-location dimming, and Sunnata for a more elevated, design-forward look. Our Comparison Brochure has more in-depth information.
